The spirit of Cantine San Marzano is represented by this wine, the Fifty Collection. This wine celebrates the first 50 years of life of the cooperative named above, from 1962 to 2012. The Cinquanta Collection is made from grapes from the oldest vines of Salento, shows a deep red color and an intense bouquet and manages to keep intact the organoleptic characteristics for 7 years.
Ideal to accompany red meat and game, but can also be used for meditation, with a warm reactive taste and personality.
To enjoy it at its best, we advise you to let the wine "breathe" 15-20 minutes before serving it, but it can have a nice evolution if left to rest some time in the cellar, even for 4-5 years. Also recommended to drink it in a large glass because it requires oxygenation to open properly.
Production area:
San Marzano, Salento, Puglia.
Average altitude of about 100 meters above sea level.
Medium-clayey soil, shallow with good skeleton presence.
Medium-high temperatures in the summer with high evapo-perspiration.
Breeding system:
Sapling aged not less than 50 years with a number of buds per plant between 4 and 6 and average grape production per tree of about 1 kg.
Harvest period:
September.
Manual harvesting of slightly overripe grapes; destemming-crushing, cold pre-fermentative maceration and subsequent start of alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts. Final racking up with soft presses.

The 14 of Polvanera comes from 100% Primitivo grapes. A ruby red of incredible grace and charm, dynamic, warm, able to amaze.

The Primitivo di Manduria Papale from the Varvaglione 1921 winery is an excellent complex and enveloping Apulian red wine, capable of expressing the brightness of Salento. Refine at least 8 months in French oak barrels.
