The DonnaLisa Riserva by Leone De Castris awakens the senses, where structure and finesse dance at a balanced rhythm. This red wine comes from a selection of old vines. They vinify in steel, and then mature in barriques for about 18 months and in glass for another 12 months.
In the glass it shows an intense ruby red color with garnet reflections. The nose opens on aromas of blueberries, black cherries, small dark berry fruits, hints of undergrowth and herbs from the Mediterranean scrub, hints of oriental spices, vanilla, licorice root and toasted sensations. On the palate it is broad, harmonious, warm and rich, with a velvety tannic texture and a very persistent finish, which closes on notes of balanced freshness.
A wine with an excellent structure, to be drunk as an accompaniment to dishes with elaborate preparations. Excellent with first courses, it also goes well with red meat and aged cheeses. Absolutely to try with the hare seasoned with juniper berries.
