The classic Amarone della Valpolicella from the Tommasi family. Elegance and structure, softness and complexity make it a unique wine. A red bottle that can be opened and enjoyed at the table without being overwhelmed.
Amarone is made with red berried grapes historically grown in the area: Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Oseleta, which come from the prestigious company crus of La Groletta and Conca d'Oro. After the harvest, the best bunches are left to dry in special drying rooms for about 3 months, in order to concentrate sugars and aromas. Fermentation takes place in oak barrels, with a duration of about 5 days. The wine then matures for at least 30 months in large Slavonian oak barrels and ends the refinement with a few months in the bottle before being put on the market.
In the glass it shows a deep ruby red with purple reflections. The nose recalls juicy black cherry, dried fruit, sultanas, cooked plums and wild herbs, but also white pepper, mocha and licorice. Full, complex and velvety in the mouth, fine and round, with soft tannins and long persistence.
Elegance and structure make it perfect with feathered and furred game, red meats, long-aged cheeses.ù
