The history of this famous bitter dates back to 1885, when Stanislao Cobianchi decided to open, in that of Bologna, a small liquor company, going against the will of his family who wanted him devoted to the ecclesiastical career. A connoisseur of aromatic herbs, Stanislaus decided to create an innovative product, destined to become the specialty of the house, and that was accessible to all. He decided to call it Montenegro, in honor of the Princess of Montenegro, Elena Petrovich, future Queen of Italy. The sinuous shape of the bottle did the rest and, in a short time, this bitterness reached an enormous diffusion and today represents a consolidated name, despite 120 years of distance. A true symbol of Italian tradition and excellence.

Limpid color and warm copper reflections, has an authentic scent and rich in pleasant vegetal sensations of aromatic herbs with a unique and unmistakable character that can be found, in abundance, tasting, in a tasty sip, characterized by the perfect combination of sweet-bitter notes that close to a long herbaceous and mentholated trail, reminiscent of chinotto.
